Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is partnering with several highly regarded law firms throughout San Diego County that are actively seeking experienced Litigation Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Attorney Practice Assistants, and Litigation Paralegals.

Our clients range from established boutique firms to nationally recognized Am Law firms across a variety of practice areas, including Labor & Employment, Business Litigation, Intellectual Property, Insurance Defense, Trust & Estates, Plaintiff Personal Injury, HOA/Community Association, and General Civil Litigation.

Compensation: $65,000 - $115,000+ annually, varies by role and experience

Location: San Diego County (Hybrid and Onsite opportunities available)

Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries & Attorney Practice Assistants

  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and file legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.
  • Handle State, Federal, and appellate court filings, including eFiling and deadline management.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and track litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Coordinate meetings, travel, client communications, and administrative support.
  • Manage case files, document organization, and legal records.
  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.

Litigation Paralegals

  • Manage cases from inception through trial, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, discovery requests and responses, exhibit binders, and trial materials.
  • Conduct legal research and investigate case-related issues.
  • Coordinate document collection, review, and production, including eDiscovery.
  • Communicate with clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel.
  • Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, witness coordination, and trial support.

Qualifications

  • Legal Assistants & Secretaries: State & Federal eFiling experience, California litigation experience (3-8+ years), and strong litigation calendaring and court rules knowledge.
  • Litigation Paralegals: California civil litigation experience (5+ years), case management from inception through trial, and strong eDiscovery and litigation technology skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in active litigation practices.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
